General Chapter
Al-Mughni
Book of Acknowledgment of Rights
Primary text
When the acknowledged person is an adult and sane, the lineage is established according to the ruling of Al-Qadi and the apparent position of the Shafi'i school, because the adult has no statement (regarding the acknowledgment), resembling an infant in this regard.
Supporting text
There is another view stating that the lineage is not established because the lineage of a legally competent person (mukallaf) requires their confirmation, which was absent.
