If a person states, 'He owes me the majority (mu'dham) of a thousand,' or 'the bulk (jull) of a thousand,' or 'nearly (qareeb min) a thousand,' the debtor is legally obligated to pay more than half of the thousand.
Supporting text
If the creditor claims the amount due is the entirety of the thousand (or an amount exceeding what is implied by the majority), the creditor must take an oath regarding the increase.
