Primary text

If one of the potential heirs is disqualified from inheriting—due to being a slave, adhering to a different religion than the deceased, or being a murderer—that person is disregarded, and the lineage is established by the acknowledgment of the remaining heir alone, as that heir is entitled to the entire inheritance. If the acknowledged person is otherwise entitled to inherit, they share in the inheritance with the acknowledger. If the acknowledged person is not entitled to inherit due to one of these impediments, their lineage is established, but they do not inherit. This ruling applies whether the acknowledging party is a Muslim or a non-Muslim.
