Primary text
If a man says to another, 'I entrusted this garment to you,' and the recipient confirms ('I believe you'), but the first man then claims, 'A different man entrusted it to me,' the garment belongs to the first party mentioned. The recipient is obligated to compensate the second party (the one mentioned in the subsequent claim) for the garment's value. No distinction is made in this chapter regarding whether the declaration was made in connected speech or separate statements.
