Repeating 'katha' without conjunction does not alter the ruling, nor does it imply an increase, as if one said, 'something, something.' Similarly, repeating it with conjunction, such as saying 'katha wa katha' (such and such and such), is interpreted as being equivalent to the singular utterance because it is possible the speaker intended to state fractions like 'one-third of one-fifth of seven dirhams' or similar constructions, thus maintaining ambiguity.
