Primary text

If the debtor states, 'I exchanged two dirhams for a Dinar,' and the creditor confirms this claim, the creditor's admission is voided because the exchange (*salam*) of one type of currency for another is invalid. If the creditor denies the debtor's explanation, the statement of the admitting party (the debtor) is accepted regarding the initial obligation, meaning two dirhams are owed, and the debtor's subsequent explanation regarding the Dinar is voided.
