What is the ruling when successive exceptions are made where the second exception is connected (conjoined) to the first exception?

Primary text
If an exception is made following another exception, and the second is conjoined to the first, the second exception pertains to what remains after the first exception has been subtracted. For instance, if a person states, 'I owe him ten, except for three, and except for two dirhams,' the meaning is that two dirhams are excepted from the remaining five (ten minus three), resulting in a debt of five dirhams remaining.
