What is the status of an agent who wears the garment he was commissioned to sell?
General Chapter
Al-Mughni
Book of Agency
Primary text
If an agent is commissioned to sell a garment and wears it, he becomes liable for its value (*dhaman*). If he then sells it, the sale is valid, and he is absolved of liability because the ownership enters the buyer's possession and liability. If he receives the price, the money becomes a trust in his hands, not guaranteed by him, because he received it by the permission of the principal without transgression.
