The legal implications when an apostate flees to the abode of war (dar al-harb).
General Chapter

Book of the Apostate
Primary text
If an apostate joins the abode of war, their property ownership is not dissolved, but killing them becomes permissible for anyone without requiring a call to repent (*istitaaba*), and their property becomes liable to be taken by whomever is able to seize it, because they have become equivalent to a belligerent enemy (*harbi*), and their ruling becomes the ruling of the people of war.
