Primary text

If a group apostatizes and fortifies themselves in their dwelling, refusing obedience to the Imam of the Muslims, their sanctity concerning their lives and property is removed. This is because original non-Muslims (*kuffar al-asliyyin*) have no inviolability in their own dwelling, and the apostate group is subject to the same ruling, thus making them akin to the people of war in this specific context.
