What is required for the Islam of one who apostatized by denying an obligatory religious duty (Fard)?
General Chapter
Al-Mughni
Book of the Apostate
Primary text
If one apostatized by denying an obligatory duty, their Islam is not established until they admit what they denied and repeat the two testimonies, because such a denial involves having lied against Allah and His Messenger through their belief. Similarly, if one denies a prophet, a verse of the Divine Book, one of the Divine Books, one of the angels whose angelic status is established, or permits something forbidden, their Islam necessitates admitting what they denied.
