Ibn Al-Nawahah was executed despite initially repenting after reading the poetry of Musaylimah, based on the narration from Ibn Mas'ud. The reason for his execution is likely due to the clarity of his falsehood in his repentance, as it became evident he had not abandoned his disbelief, or because the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) stated, "Were it not that messengers are not killed, I would have killed you," suggesting his execution was a fulfillment of that potential decree.
