If the surety is valid, the guarantor is obligated to fulfill what they guaranteed, and the beneficiary of the guarantee has the right to demand fulfillment from the guarantor. We know of no difference of opinion on this matter. This is the essence of suretyship, supported by the Prophet's saying, "The guarantor is liable" (al-za'im gharim), and the linguistic derivation of the term.
