Primary text

If the creditor (Muhtal) and the receiving debtor (Muhal 'alayhi) confess the slave's freedom, the slave is manumitted based on the admission of the one in possession of him regarding his freedom. The Hawalah becomes void concerning them. Furthermore, the creditor has no recourse against the transferring debtor because his participation in the Hawalah constitutes an admission of the transferring debtor's clearance from the debt, thus precluding the right of recourse against him.
