Primary text
When the creditor releases the guarantor from a debt obligation through a transfer of debt (Halah), the liability of both the guarantor and the original debtor is extinguished. This is because the transfer of debt is equivalent to full payment, and the ruling is the same as if someone paid the debt on their behalf.
