What happens if a testator appoints a second executor after appointing the first?

Primary text
If a testator appoints one executor, and then appoints another subsequently without explicitly dismissing the first, both individuals serve as co-executors. This is because the second appointment took effect without revoking the first, treating it as if both were appointed simultaneously. The first executor is only dismissed if the testator explicitly states, 'I have dismissed the first,' or 'I have removed him.'
