What is the legal consequence if a testator cancels a debt owed by an heir?

If a testator cancels a debt owed by an heir, or wills for the payment of his debt, or if a wife forgives her dower (mahr) from her husband, or forgives an injury that incurs financial compensation, this is treated legally as a bequest (wasiyyah).
