If the nature of an illness is ambiguous, the ruling is to be referred to the statement of those with knowledge and experience, namely trustworthy, mature Muslim physicians. This is because the rights of heirs and beneficiaries of gifts are involved, requiring rigorous proof. It is permissible to accept the testimony of only one just physician if two cannot be found, analogous to rulings in matters of litigation.
