Primary text

If the donor leaves one hundred dinars, that amount is added to the slave's value. If the recipient chooses to surrender the slave, one-third and one-quarter of the slave are surrendered, constituting half of the total wealth, accounting for the injury and the remaining portion for the nullification of the gift. This makes the entirety equal to the slave and the one hundred dinars, matching the portion for which the gift was validated. If redemption is chosen, the recipient redeems seven-eighths of the Diyah, knowing that if no money was left, redemption would be for three-quarters of the value; therefore, three-quarters of the one hundred dinars is added to that, resulting in seven-eighths of the slave being redeemed.
