How are permissible dogs divided among heirs and legatees, or among multiple legatees?

If the dogs are divided between an heir and a legatee, or between two legatees, the division is made according to their number because they lack recognized monetary value. If they dispute over a specific dog, a drawing of lots should be conducted between them.
