What is the ruling when a bequest is made jointly to two living beneficiaries, and one of them dies?

If a bequest is made to two living persons and one of them dies, the surviving beneficiary receives half of the bequest. There is no known disagreement on this ruling. This also applies if the bequest becomes void for one beneficiary due to their refusal or lack of eligibility to receive bequests.
