There are two scholarly opinions regarding the bequest of a young puppy, contingent upon the permissibility of raising it for hunting or livestock management, as previously discussed.

The opinion of Al-Shafi'i in these matters mirrors the discussion above, except he stipulates that the legatee receives the dog that the heirs prefer to give him. The bequest of a harassing dog ('Kalb al-Harash') or any dog other than the three permissible types (hunting, livestock, plowing) is not valid.
