Primary text
If the slave's value is three-fifths of the Diyah, and the recipient chooses redemption for the full Diyah, the gift is confirmed for one share. The redemption amount is one and two-thirds of a share. The result is that the heirs possess the slave plus two-thirds of a share, equaling two shares, meaning one share equals three-quarters. Thus, the gift is valid for three-quarters of the slave. One-quarter returns to the donor. One hundred and fifty (units of currency) plus three-quarters of the Diyah, totaling nine hundred (units of currency), corresponds exactly to the value for which the gift was validated.
