The validity of bequeathing the title of a slave to one person and the benefit to another.

It is valid to bequeath the bare title of a slave to one person and his benefit to another. The legatee of the title assumes the position of the heir in matters previously discussed. This is the position held by Al-Shafi'i, Abu Thawr, and the Ashab al-Ra'y.
