Is compensation required if the fetus of a pregnant woman dies due to a prescribed punishment administered to her?

If the Imam administers a prescribed punishment (*hadd*) to a pregnant woman, and her fetus is consequently lost, the jurist must compensate for the fetus. This is established even though there is consensus among the jurists that compensation is generally not due if the person receiving the punishment dies as a result of it.
