Primary text
If a person deliberately sinks a ship, and the sinking is of a nature that typically causes destruction and the death of those aboard due to being in deep water or inability to swim, then retaliation (Qisas) is incumbent if the killing warrants Qisas. Furthermore, the perpetrator must compensate for the ship, including its property and lives lost. This ruling is affirmed.
