Primary text
The prescribed legal punishment (*hadd*) is obligatory if one absorbs an intoxicant (Khamr) into the body, if it is used for dyeing, or if meat is cooked in it and subsequently eaten from its broth. The reason for this ruling is that the essence (*ain*) of the intoxicant remains present. Similarly, the *hadd* applies if one wets (*lutta bihi*) a confection (*suwayq*) with it and then consumes it.
