Primary text

There is no known disagreement regarding the ruling on unfermented grape juice; the prescribed punishment is obligatory upon its consumption, whether little or much. My Imam (Imam Ahmad) mandates parity between grape juice and all other intoxicants. The evidence supporting the unified ruling is found in numerous narrations from the Prophet, indicating the prohibition of all intoxicants, such as those stating, 'Every intoxicant is *khamr*,' and 'Every intoxicant is forbidden.'
