Primary text

The assailant must pay the full Diyah if an injury to the victim's head results in the loss of sight because the loss is a direct consequence of the injurious act. If the sight is not lost immediately but is lost later due to the treatment administered, the assailant is still liable for the full Diyah because the loss is a consequence of the assailant's initial act. The ruling is based on the direct causation of the harm by the initial felony.
