Is blood money obligatory for the loss of the sense of smell (Shamm)?

Blood money is due for the loss of the sense of smell because it is a faculty specific to its benefit, making it subject to Diyah like other senses. There is no known disagreement on this. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, stated: 'And for the sense of smell, there is Diyah.'
