There is no dispute that the fixed compensation for the Hashimah is not due. There are two differing views regarding the required compensation: one view states five camels, arguing that if there were both an Iwdah and a fracture, the total would be ten (five for the Iwdah and five for the fracture), so only the five for the fracture component is due when the Iwdah is absent. The second view holds that customary assessment (hukuma) is necessary, as it constitutes a bone fracture without an accompanying external wound, similar to the fracture of the nasal bridge.
