Chapter on Qasamah (Oaths regarding murder)
Al-Mughni
Book of Blood-Money (Diyyāt)
Primary text
The 'Aqilah (the killer's tribal/clan relatives responsible for blood money) bears no financial responsibility in any of these aforementioned situations. The financial burden rests entirely upon the killer's personal wealth. This is because the liability was not established by full testimonial proof, and in some instances, the killer has confessed that the liability rests on his own wealth, not that of his 'Aqilah.
