What is the legal compensation for severing only a part of the nose?

If only a part of the nose is severed, the compensation due is proportional to the portion removed from the full Diyah. This is determined by measurement and assessment, analogous to the ruling established for the ears. This view is related from Umar ibn Abd al-Aziz, al-Sha'bi, and Al-Shafi'i.
