Primary text
If the striker is solvent when he frees the slave, the manumission extends to her and her fetus. Regarding compensation, there are two opinions. According to Al-Qadi, the fetus owes a transferable *ghurrah*. According to the implication of Abu Bakr's saying, the striker must compensate his partner for his share of the fetus by half of one-tenth of the mother's value, but he does not guarantee the mother because he already guaranteed her by freeing her, thus precluding guarantee for her subsequent loss.
