Who is liable when someone is shot unintentionally without being presented by anyone?

If a person is shot unintentionally and no one presented them towards the target, liability rests upon the shooter. If the act constitutes an unintentional killing (*khata'*), the liability is borne by the shooter's *aqilah*.
