If the perpetrator confesses to the *istihlal* or to an act requiring full *diyya*, the *aqilah* (kin group responsible for accidental killing) does not bear it; the *diyya* rests upon the perpetrator's personal wealth because the *aqilah* does not carry responsibility for a confession. If the act incurs only *ghurrah* (a specific form of partial compensation), the *aqilah* pays the *ghurrah*, and the remainder of the *diyya* is on the striker's wealth.
