Primary text

The prescribed compensation for an intentional *ja'ifah* is one-third of the full blood money (*diyah*). This is supported by the Prophet's saying found in the document of 'Amr ibn Hazm, stating, 'And in the *ja'ifah* is one-third of the *diyah**,' and similar reports from Ibn 'Umar. This compensation is fixed because a penetrating wound that reaches a cavity has a fixed measure (*muqaddar*) and its *arsh* does not change between intentional and accidental infliction, similar to the *muwaddihah*.

Supporting text

Makhul stated that the compensation for an intentional *ja'ifah* is two-thirds of the *diyah*.
