The penalty for severing both labia of the female private parts, which surround the opening akin to the lips surrounding the mouth, is the full blood money (diyah) for the woman. This opinion is held by Al-Shafi'i and Al-Thawri, provided that sexual intercourse becomes impossible afterward. Muhammad ibn Sufyan ruled this if the bone is reached, based on the premise that these parts possess both beauty and function, and there is no other similar pair on the body, thus necessitating the full dih, similar to other paired organs. Severing one labium incurs half the dih, following the established precedent for other unpaired members.
