Primary text

The Diyah for both hands is due, and half the Diyah is due for one hand. This is supported by the narration from Mu'adh ibn Jabal, where the Prophet, peace be upon him, stated, 'And for the two hands is the Diyah, and for the two feet is the Diyah.' Furthermore, the decree sent by the Prophet, peace be upon him, to 'Amr ibn Hazm stated, 'And for the hand is fifty camels.' This liability stems from the obvious beauty and complete utility found in the hands, and there are no other similar parts in the body, thus requiring the full Diyah, similar to the two eyes.
