Who is responsible for the blood money (diya) if a child born from such a union commits homicide?

If one of the children commits an act resulting in homicide, the blood money is incumbent upon the patron of the mother, because this patron is considered the deceased's agnate (asabah) and heir due to the wala' being established through the mother.
