What is the ruling for a head wound that starts at the top and extends to the back of the neck?
Chapter on Diyat (Blood Money) for Wounds
Al-Mughni
Book of Blood-Money (Diyyāt)
Primary text
If the wound originates at the head and extends to the back of the neck (qafa), the perpetrator is liable for *muwaddahah* (a specific type of serious head wound) for the head injury, and a discretionary fine (*hukoomah*) for the wound on the neck, because the neck is not a location where a *muwaddahah* classification applies.
