If the injured party claims a partial loss or deficiency in their sense of smell, their statement, accompanied by their oath, is accepted because this condition can only be known from their report. Therefore, their word is accepted in this matter, just as a woman's word is accepted regarding the completion of her waiting period by menstrual cycles. The amount of Diyah due is determined by judicial assessment (hukuma).
