What is the ruling if injury to a woman's breasts causes partial loss of milk or damage to firm breasts?
Chapter on Diyat (Blood Money) for Wounds
Al-Mughni
Book of Blood-Money (Diyyāt)
Primary text
If injury diminishes the milk flow, or if firm breasts are fractured by an aggressor, or if disease afflicts them, a discretionary indemnity (*hukuma*) is due commensurate with the resulting deficiency.
Supporting text
If an injury is inflicted on the breasts and lactation ceases later upon childbirth, and experts confirm the injury as the cause, the liability is that of causing loss of milk after it had existed.
