Primary text
If the non-striking partner frees the slave while insolvent, the striker bears no liability for his own share because manumission did not extend to him. He owes half a *ghurrah* concerning the striker's share of the fetus, which his heirs inherit, according to Al-Qadi. According to the implication of Abu Bakr's saying, the striker must guarantee his partner's share by half of one-tenth of the mother's value, taking into account the state at the time of the injury.
