Primary text

Idol worshippers and all others without a revealed scripture, such as the Turks or those who worship what they arbitrarily approve of, are not entitled to blood money for their slain. Their lives are only preserved by the granting of protection (Aman). If a protected person from this group is killed, the compensation due is the Diyya of a Magian because it is the minimum amount for blood money and cannot be less than that. This is because they are non-believers under a covenant whose women are unlawful to marry, which assimilates them to the Magians.
