Primary text
The compensation for the tongue of a mute person is subject to two established rulings, mirroring those applied to a paralyzed hand. This applies similarly to any limb whose function is lost while its form remains, such as a paralyzed leg, a paralyzed finger, or a non-functional male organ. One ruling mandates one-third of the full Diyah. The other ruling requires a discretionary assessment (Hukuma) by an expert.
