What is the ruling regarding an injury to a female slave (*amah*)?
Chapter on Diyat (Blood Money) for Wounds

Book of Blood-Money (Diyyāt)
Primary text
For injuries to a female slave, the compensation follows the ruling applicable to a male slave until the calculated *arsh* reaches one-third of her total value. If the injury amount reaches one-third of her value, her compensation likely reverts to half the amount specified for a male slave, similar to how a woman's Diyah is reduced to half the man's Diyah once it reaches one-third of the full Diyah. This reduction occurs because the *amah* is considered equivalent to a woman in status regarding injuries.

It is also suggested that the compensation should not be reduced to half because the precedent of reduction in a free woman's Diyah is based on a deviation from the primary rule that increasing injury and harm should increase compensation. Therefore, in the case of the female slave, adherence to the primary rule of increasing compensation with increased harm should be maintained.
