The full *diya* is due for the two breasts of a man. This view is held by Ishaq and attributed as one opinion to Al-Shafi'i.

Al-Nakha'i, Malik, the Companions of Al-Ra'y, and Ibn Al-Mundhir hold that a discretionary indemnity (*hukuma*) is due. This is the apparent position of Al-Shafi'i, based on the argument that aesthetic value is lost without utility, thus not warranting *diya*, similar to damaging an intact eye or a paralyzed hand. Al-Zuhri stated the indemnity for a male nipple is five camels. A narration from Zayd ibn Thabit assigns one-eighth of the *diya*.
