What is the ruling regarding the offspring of a Mudabbara, a Mukataba, or a woman freed conditionally, or the offspring of an Umm Walad if she conceives outside of her master?
General Chapter
Al-Mughni
Book of Blood-Money (Diyyāt)
Primary text
The offspring of a Mudabbara (a slave willed to be freed upon the master's death), a Mukataba (a contracted slave working towards freedom), a conditionally freed slave, or an Umm Walad (a female slave who has borne her master a child) if she conceives from someone other than her master, their ruling is the ruling of the offspring of a female slave because they are considered property. Furthermore, the 'Aqilah (the kin responsible for blood money) bears no responsibility for these offspring because the 'Aqilah never bears the responsibility for a slave in any situation.
