Primary text
If the wall does not belong to the demanding party but is cracked, and collapse is not feared because the cracks run lengthwise (*bi-tul*), its ruling is identical to that of a sound wall; demolition is not required because there is no fear of collapse, thus resembling a sound structure. If collapse is feared, such as when the cracks run crosswise (*bi-al-'ard*), its ruling is that of a leaning wall because there is fear of destruction, thus resembling the leaning structure.
